He was instrumental in the development of the flower preservation business, Co-Founded the International Freeze Dried Flower Association (IFDFA), and has trained the entire industry through 275 training classes spanning three decades.

Richard was also active in the basic design of several models of Commercial Freeze Dryers for both the VirTis and FTS Kinetics companies. For the past 20 years, he has been designing commercial botanical freeze dry machines.
